And so, we meet...
I was moving into my college dorm room with my best friend, Holly. Josh was a friend of hers. He came to visit us and when I saw him, I was captivated. I knew that I wanted to get to know him. As he was leaving I gave him a hug. Later I told Holly that I thought her friend was really “hot”. She told me that he thought I was beautiful. Then it was only a matter of time before he asked me out on a romantic date, we started seeing one another and then the next thing we knew we were dating and falling head over heels for one another!
Over the hills and...
I feel like I have known ever since the first moment I laid eyes on him, like it was fate. The years just got better and better as we fell more and more in love with one another. We were together in the good times and the bad, and we made it through with a stronger relationship each time! We complete and complement one another, it always felt like this was meant to be! Our feelings still grow for one another each day we are together!
Proposal? Engagement? Well here is the story...
We had been visiting Josh's family in Erie, PA. While there Josh had told all of our friends and family what he had intended to do. He also was able to put together a video of everyone's reactions and well wishes, without Dee knowing at all. Funny thing is that she is in the video.
Deidre's Story:
When I got back from Pittsburgh it was my birthday, but I got home
pretty early. Josh said that he was going to take me out to dinner. My
mom was being a pain about it because she said that she had made plans
but then when I suggested that Josh and I make it another night she was
like no no... just go. (Which she was just acting at the time but she
didn't want me know it.) Well Joshie took me out to Outback Steakhouse.
Was talking to him about my dear friend Autumn's funeral and saying
that I really needed something good to happen because I was going to go
insane. After we got our food Josh went to the bathroom. When he came
back he pretended to drop something....
At that moment he took my hand, popped out a ring box, and asked me…
“I was wondering if you wanted to spend the rest of your life with me?”
Of course I said yes and then I cried…
Josh's Story:
While she was away for the funeral I had gone with her parents to find her the perfect engagement ring. I didn’t have much time, but I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted to get for her. We went shopping for hours and hours and finally we found the perfect ring. They were actually able to get me the ring right away, and when we were at the restaurant I figured it was time to pop the question. So I went to the bathroom and came back and made it look like I tripped, but came back up on 1 knee and proposed to her right then and there. I think it definitely made her day a little better!
Such a wonderful new beginning!
We make a great team!
